On The Edge Of An Empire - Star Wars

Same old, Same old
Darkstar log recap

I’ve been many things in my time. Thief, Rebel, Pirate. I’m not proud of a lot of things I have done in my past and I aren’t under any illusions my future will be rosey either but…

Few months ago I was contacted by Shannon. She told me I had a kid just dropped him on me. Telling me her life is to dangerous to have a kid around. Foodoo. Like my life is any easier? I’ve got the Sun breathing down my neck, a psychopath as a first officer, an Imperial Admiral as a Father and I’m expected to keep it all together for the sake of not only my crew and my ship but for now, my kid. I’m a Dad. Just saying it out loud seems weird. Hey, I’ll earn my money and I’ll be able to retire to Dantooine and settle down with my boy. Pay off Bargos and go home.

I’m trying real hard to get by in this Universe. To keep it together. To be the honorable man the military trained me to be. Look at me. I’m soft. I’m overweight. I just want to go out with my dignity intact. Then the Hutt let me down. In our time off-world Bargos has lost his power and influence with the Cartel. His water and food supplies are running low and we had to pay two thousand big ones just to land on the damned world. Of course wewere robbed. Our water stolen by people who honestly, deserve better. I feel bad for the people of Tatooine and the Rim in general, but hell if I tell my crew about that they won’t care. They aren’t interested in helping folk and I realise that now. You’d think I’d know better but you know what? I’m too much of a damned optimist to believe my crew are completely irredeemable.

Cavisek left. She told me her family was being held to ransom by the Empire and that she had to spy on us. That hurt a lot. I’m tired of the Empire. I’m tired of war. I don’t even miss Alderaan anymore, I just want to go home.

We found the stolen supplies. They threatened us with guns, I did the same. When I asked Rad to shoot the ringleader, he shot two of them for good measure. The bastards themselves got the last laugh. I’ve seen some messed up stuff in the Outer Rim but they strapped a bomb to a guys chest and blew him up just because we wanted more answers. I’d be interested to talk to this Minok-Man, I bet he and I could have a great chat over some whiskey for sure.

Arson was obviously angry. He certainly took it out on them. He didn’t have to tell me that he tortured a guy, and the Dug Doctor. I don’t know where Bargos finds these people. You look in his eyes and you dont see anything. No measure of a man. But I want to help them, I have to. My crew are a collection of outcasts, people who have lost their way and their heart and I’ll be damned if I can’t help them. If I dont, they are going to die. I am going to die.

I thought things were going to be better for us but they ain’t and I can tell they are only going to get worse before the day is done. I havent even had time to sit down and think about Echo Base and Shannon. Probably dead. All of them are dead killed by the Imperial War Machine in this endless war. I don’t even know how the Empire got there. I hope it wasn’t me. I was sure I changed my transponder when I met her, didn’t I?

Oh by the force, what have I done.

I need someone to help me before…

help me.

Escape from Bleak Skies

Imperials, Black sun and rebels, the worst combination. I know I wanted an exciting mechanic jobs where I get to travel, learn new things and money for my clan, but for the mess I’m in now, I feel I should have stayed at the mundane ship yards.
The mission to the graveyard of Alderaan was a disaster, it was a trap set for some princess, I did get told who, but at this moment of time I’m beyond caring. We got catch by the Imperials after a failed escape. Captain told us to give up and promised us he would look after us, I believed him.

We were all interrogated before being dumped into the Bleak Skies Prison Facility. My interrogation wasn’t too bad, I had no interesting information for them apart from the location of the ship, they already knew where it was they wanted to see if I would lie, but Selonian don’t lie. Guess that made things a bit nicer for me well that and the deal they forced me into, not sure the clan going to be fully ok with this, Drarkira next call going to be fun.
The prison Facility wasn’t nice for us “aliens”, we’re separated from humans, lucky I was classed as a valuable alien so got things a bit more cosy. I meet a Twi’lek called herself Shar’Vida she had a wookie friend Hawwaa, I felt it best to make friends quickly, and a strong wookie always good for protection.

Whilst in the yard I could see the humans on the other side but no Dark star, there was also no sign of Abbie also, hope she ok. There was a few Trandoshan in gangs couldn’t recognise Sob…sobeck, I don’t know only just met the thing before all this crap.
I was greeted by a very timid Bith called himself Jenkins. As nice as the guy seemed his squeaky award voice made him seem nervous, weak and the size won’t help him either in a place like this.
We were taken for a check-up and an interview with the man in charged Rupert. He asked for my help with repair I’m very willing if it mean I won’t appear on this horrid food for flesh initiative. Humans are allowed to torture aliens for extra food, it’s sick and I made sure he knew that.
The next day I was took to do some repairs on a guard droid it had an error were it was recognising some other alien species as human guards easy to fix and infect. I change the program so it would recognise Selonian as human guards won’t take long till it infect the whole place. They asks if the droid was working fine, it was working perfectly for me so we won’t class that as a lie.
Later on the whole system went down and we were able to escape not sure how this happened but me Shar’Vida and Hawwaa weren’t going to question and head out for an escape. We were greeted by guard droid but they were in my command great a mini army for support. We manage to meet the Trandoshan he had a strange creature with him but no time for question they said we needed to get the code of Doctor Halcard for us to get to the shipping bay. When we got there it seemed everyone on are crew was having the same idea. Darkstar was there with tuber’s head, I didn’t inquire like I said before no time for questions. There was a human, it was Arson, not what I was expecting under the mask, so plain looking. Them Justin comes in looks like he’s been brawling, Arson doesn’t want him with us, but I stick up for him, the more of us the more chance of escape…maybe.
The Trandoshan and his friend got the code and had an issues to deal with Halcard, I didn’t see but now knowing there black sun members, I imagine it was brutal.
We head to the tram system I had to leave my droid army as there no room, gutted at least now I know how easy it is to hack them. It a one way system to and from, I manage to get the tram moving only for us to be greeted by another tram with Imperial guards. Dark star mangers to convince them we’re just guards to. This gave me time to lock them in there tram and send it back so finally we got to the hanger bay.
In the hanger bay was lockers for some reason are stuff was there maybe they didn’t have time to move it, don’t know why I was questioning it? We got are gear and headed to the ship but it had no wrap drive, still we needed to get out of here. We took the risk only to be greeted by fighters. We couldn’t risk another space battle so we crashed to the nearest planet. So now we’re all stranded in a jungle like area. Not sure what we’re going to do now.

I do not enjoy doctors poking and prodding and detaching parts of my body,
I do not deserve to be in here. I was placed here by stupid errors and stupid mistakes done by my “Captain” and his stupidity.

Fuck the Rebellion. A jumble of bored privileged children that ran off at the first chance they could to play “Hero” to the system they don’t like. Well congratulations you got a planet destroyed, the lives of those Alderaanians are on your shoulders you motley collection of toothless farm hands and princesses.

I assaulted the doctor giving me the physical which has resulted in myself alone being stuck in the “Unwanted alien” section of this prison, luckily (or this may just be a blunder) I was put in with a member of the Black sun by the name of Obsidian Sun. He has explained that he wants the overseer deceased for killing his brother. I will assist to my best ability.

They allow us an hour outside every two days, One bowl of grool and entrails for food a day and keep watch constantly. This is not a small facility. I wonder how they monitor us all.
I recall on the ship there was a mechanic. I will need to chat to her at some point.

Food for Flesh
A initiative within this place, Humans are allowed to torture for extra food. My torturer was my own beloved captain Darkstar. Who tortured me to unconsciousness because he cannot control his own temper.

Upon my release from the initiative I discovered another Trandoshan who had, had a similar time. His torturer had gone over board and had turned him into a snivelling wretch. I cannot allow the other races to look upon Trandoshans as such. We are a proud and fearsome species. I killed him with a swift claw to the temple and secured myself a place in solitary.

I have proven myself able to fight and kill. Its what they want here from us. During the fights prisoners are able to mingle and watch. This will give my cohorts an ability to meet and plan. I only hope they aren’t stupid enough to waste this opportunity .

These prisoners are under the boot of Human oppression. I will breed insurrection

Log 1

Hsskors sun to Krayts sun.

I have arrived on this crippled bantha they call a ship, there is dead vermin in the airlock, wrapped in a sheet, im not sure why they haven’t disposed of this yet but on boarding I am told it was an ex crew mate that had been in conflict with another member of the crew.
Darkstar, his first mate, a Selonian, mechanic, strong looking if a little testy when probed with a strong male presence but all in all a creature of use.
They ask very little, Darkstar
My quarters aboard this ship are small. I situate myself in their mess hall and observe the crew.

A Chiss,
Name: Gayl,
Sex: Female,
Role: Pilot
Weakness: Irrational, Unpredictable. Undisciplined
Advantage: Pilot, Chiss Clawcraft

A Human?
Name: Arson Mandell
Sex: Male
Role Bounty hunter,
Weakness: Violent, Sociopathic, Clashes with crew.
Advantage: Bounty hunter

A Selonian
Name: Carvisek
Sex: Female
Role: mechanic
Weakness: Defensive about sexuality, Ship is valuable to her.
Advantage: None determined

A Human
Name: Cameron Darkstar
Sex: Male
Role: Captain
Weakness: All ready filed.
Advantage: None determined

A Droid
Designation: 2-1BR
Role: Doctor
Weakness: Droid. Hippocratic programming
Advantage: None determined

The crew seems displeased with my coat it seems to put them on edge with me. Their unpleasantness at other religions will be noted.

We arrive at the graveyard of Alderaan. This is a place haunted by the memories of the humans that once lived here, destroyed by the empire as a sign of strength.
The captain is saddened by the wreckage, I was made aware he was from Alderaan so this is not a shock.

We land on an asteroid where the captain believes there is a palace still standing.
The Empire is here, Imperial soldiers appear and herd us inside using blaster fire. Like Tauntaun’s off a cliff we run into the building. This is a trap, they are leading us into a trap.
This palace is certainly a thing of beauty. I believe Xizor would enjoy living inside such majesty. I will send co-ordinates of this asteroid so you may send a team out for salvage.

Speaking of salvage.
We find a crew of pirates pilfering and they begin a firefight.

Darkstar was almost hit by their captains laser blast. I was told to not allow him to die. I shielded him with my own back and was knocked down by the blast. The fight went on and once the doctor had shoved a stimpack into my neck I awoke and delivered a bolt into the Twilek captain who shot me. I should have taken her tendrils for the trouble but on killing one of the unconscious crew mates I was met with the droid and crew’s disapproval.
They do not appreciate the code.
When you defeat an enemy you must destroy them completely, only then are you free from vengeance. If the pirate returns. They are to blame.

They are soft, a soft crew is not what we need in this organisation. I will attempt to toughen them up.
The captain proclaims I should carry the twilek. Whom had been shooting us and was perfectly fine killing any of us. No, lets see what happens if I question him.
the hunter attempts to enforce the captains orders when unexpectedly the Selonian pips up and says she will carry her. I can feel Darkstar getting angry and frustrated and the crew watching him crack.

There was another firefight. I am already hurt but this one was with imperials. A contingent of storm troopers and an officer in tow, but as before we shoot them down easily enough. This crew is disorganised when not in battle but when given a bit of a push they organize quickly.

Alone stood a man, Not imperial, Not pirate but Alderaanian. A man who Darkstar apparently trusts with all the conviction in the world as when probed about the possibility of this being a trap I was met with extreme anger.

The scene ahead of us was this. A large hangar bay with an Alderaanian ship ready to leave, except between us and freedom was another contingent of stormtroopers, this one ten men strong.

Darkstar motions to a shield generator for the hangar bay in the ceiling and the crew takes aim and fires, only myself and the bounty hunter manage to hit. I am beginning to wonder if their abilities in combat are flukes.
The shield generator does explode however and ten soldiers are blown out to their deaths.
I will go on record as saying this.
I informed darkstar of the Chiss’s lack of mag boots. I told him to use his rope to lash her to himself incase of sudden depressurisation. This happened. She was almost blown out as his rope snapped but I managed to grab her by the ankle.
The crew will not remember this as they seem focused on ones failures.

We get onboard the ship and take off… Directly into a squadron of tie fighters. The empires meddling in our affairs is becoming a thorn in my side.
After a short battle in which we manage to hold our own the brave captain Darkstar panics and surrenders.

This is the end of my transmission as I’m sure we are about to be boarded.

Arson Mandel's Mental Log #5

Right, so where were we?

Oh yeah. Greasy. Rude. Firing at us.

Our new ‘friend’, Sobecq, dropped pretty fast. Our captain saw it as good advice and did the same. I turned this impending disaster into an opportunity, propping Sobecq up, and hid behind him. My own form of makeshift cover.

21-BR ran around trying to keep people on their feet, while I remained unscathed and undeterred. I blasted the small fry and by the time it came to facing their decent shooter, someone who had avoided blaster shots almost as well as I had until this point; we had our entire roster back on their feet and I quickly lost interest in the matter.

We bound this shooter up, some Twi-lek woman if I’m not mistaken, and Sobecq started rummaging through the dead or incapacitated crew. He then drew a knife and stabbed it into one of the surviving member’s throats.

Carvisek and Gail did not take kindly to this at all. Apparently this Trandoshan is a bit too thick-skinned to feel the previous tensions in the air. I can even see the Captain isn’t too pleased about this. He had never ordered Sobecq to execute helpless men.

I move to Sobecq’s rear, with a hand on my carbine, and wait to see where the situation goes.

If there’s nothing I can’t stand, it’s open disregard for the Captain’s orders. Call me a hypocrite, but I’ve never openly betrayed the Captain, and I doubt I ever will. On the other hand, if he doesn’t make sure his rules are rules and not just guidelines, I may be having talks about whether he’s a strong enough person to stay Captain.

Gail and Carvisek talk him down from killing the other two. I make a point of hanging to the rear of the party so he doesn’t change his mind on the matter. I’m kind of wanting him to, though.

Then it comes to the decision of whether to take the decent shot with us. She’s clearly talented and we could do with knowing exactly how she came to be here. We don’t have the time to immediately heal her, so Cameron tells Sobecq to grab her and bring her with us. He insists that the droid should do it, probably because 21-BR made a point of placing it’s hand on his shoulder when it came to trying to kill the second incapacitated crew member.

I tell Sobecq that orders are orders. I look to Cameron to enforce them, but Carvisek then pipes up, saying that she will carry the Twi-Lek. I grit my teeth at this. I understand that Cameron made Carvisek first mate as the crew can’t especially trust me right now, but I was at least qualified. Carvisek has just undermined the Captain. If he gives someone orders, and they deny them. The first mate can’t then say ‘oh, I’ll do it, just to keep the peace’. It’s like she’s advertising that a mutiny is a viable option.

Sobecq is clearly taking advantage of the lack of proper leadership, here. And I honestly can’t blame him. If the first mate is making a point of stepping around him, then by all means do what you want. The Captain really needs to reel that in before it becomes pure dissent on all sides.

We check through a few rooms of this palace, it starts to feel more like a museum. Holo-projectors are set up everywhere. We enter into one room with a bunch of benches on the walls, it has a clear open space in the middle. Quite spacious really, but still otherwise a waste of your time. Another damn holo-projector comes on and everyone but myself and Sobecq start listening to it like they are on a blasted museum tour!

I try and explain to the Captain that we are in fact escaping from the FUCKING IMPERIAL ARMY and he’s having none of it. Telling me to quieten down so he can listen. Gail chimes in with him. As the projector finishes whatever babbling it was doing. Some decrepit old man makes himself seen at the opposite side of the room, displaying a door for us to go through.

Gail shoots me a smarmy grin, which is quickly wiped off her face when Storm troopers and their leading officer burst in the room from behind us.

I make a mental note of this travesty of a situation the Captain just put us in and whip around with my carbine. I gun one down, miss the second and take a nasty shot to the gut. My usual reflexes failing me in a crisis.

If I take another shot like that, I’m down and out. I’ve seen from the previous fight that I can’t rely on the others. Everyone but myself was taken out at some point.

To highlight this fact, the officer takes a well aimed shot at 21-BR. It remains active, but I can see that we may not be able to rely on it for too much longer.

I take drastic measures, injecting myself with two stim-packs and then letting rip with my carbine.

I take one Stormtrooper down, then whip my gun skyward, hitting the unstable ceiling and blocking off a clear shot for the officer.

We take this opportunity to make quick tracks out the revealed doorway, bringing the old man with us.

Before long we find ourselves in a hangar, having carefully mined away obstructions. In the hangar is just short of a dozen Stormtroopers, who thankfully are unaware of our presence.

The Captain spots a shield generator we could make use of. As we are still in our space suits, the lack of atmosphere won’t be a problem. We each line up our shots and blast away. The generator goes offline, much to the Stormtroopers’ dismay. Gail also gets whipped up from the sudden change in pressure. I make use of the opportunity and cut her fastenings, but Sobecq holds her down. Still, no one saw me, so it just looks like poor rope on the Captain’s part.

We grab 21-Br and the old man, who we had left in the previous room, venture into the ship still waiting in the now otherwise empty hangar, and Gail slowly brings us out the narrow opening into open space.

Seven TIE fighters are waiting for us. I’m no good with the ship’s guns and Gail decides that dodging isn’t a good idea. After the hull takes a battering, she changes her tactics.. We still get throttled, but take out 2/3rds of the TIEs.

Shit then hits the fan. A Star Destroyer makes it’s way into our line of sight. I am shitting myself and begin desperately looking around. I find a hidden cargo space underneath the seat, but it’s not big enough to fit a man. I have to go an alternate route.

Shoving Sobecq out of the way. I let Gail know that Garth went out like a coward. I grab the binder cuffs Garth broke, slide them on my hands so they look legitimate and then take a sharp jab to the face from Gail.

She throws a half dozen punches, barely injuring me, but slowly building up. I’m talking to her about how I slit Garth’s throat, and how he was too stupid to have made recompense. Too stupid to even fathom he had done wrong. I let her know that his death would benefit many people, including her, but she’s too up her own ass to see it.

At some point, I think she realised she couldn’t hurt me fast enough with her fists alone. She switches to her blaster and shoots me in the leg. The wound thankfully cauterizes and I don’t need to worry about bleeding out.

I looked to Carvisek and Cameron, noting their lack of action. They allowed Gail to shoot me. I fell backwards, landing roughly on my falsely-bound hands.

We are moments away from being boarded, and people are making use of the hidden compartment I discovered, hoping to save some of their equipment. It’ll be a miracle if we can even get back to this shuttle to recover them, but there’s nothing wrong with a little hope every now and again.

We land in the hangar, Gail looks down at me, then reaches for my mask. I break my act to grab her wrist. I throw her arm away from me, sliding my hand back underneath myself and into the binders, just in time for the shuttle doors to open.

Darkstar, Captain Cameron - Imperial Prison Log 21.IA

Imperial Star Destroyer, Warmonger.

That is not how I expected things to end. The job seemed relatively easy, go to The Graveyard, scout around for information, get back out. Obviously I can’t write down too many names Grayson, I know you’ll be reading this log so long story short, we were paid to gather information and thats it. I never expected my crew to spring a trap set for Leia Organa. Amazing really all the resources you Imps possess and you’re struggling to find one teenage girl.

I feel a level of guilt for my crew, they are my responsibility. The psychopath, the thug, the droid, the getaway driver and the tinkerer. Ever since I became a TIE pilot I always preferred being alone and then you bastards destroyed my planet. I like being alone, makes heartbreak none existent but fate had other ideas, and damn it all if I’m not going to do all I can to save my crew. We weren’t the first to arrive at your trap you see, another band of scavengers tried to get the jump on us. The first clue that bringing them here was mistake but we endured. We survived. We pushed on through and found more of your little “welcome home” presents for her royal highness. We even destroyed a few, took others. Funny thing is that I thought giving all of this info you left dotted around the place would bring some good out of that tomb. Maybe I could have brought closure to every other Alderaani survivor, but I had to sell that idea to the crew as a way of earning a little extra money on the top.

We met an old man who upon seeing us first told us about Another Chance and said he had a ship nearby or some other such bullshit. I did all I could to help him and we nearly did escape the palace but then your TIE fighters showed up. Credit where it’s due, you boys really don’t mess around when it comes to the Rebellion do you?

Look at me. Cameron Darkstar, son of Clone War hero Armitage Darkstar. Former TIE pilot, former shuttle pilot and Captain of the Galactic Empire and now I’m going to be thrown in a prison. Accused of being a traitor. I even heard Lord Vader himself is on the way. If you read this Grayson, I want you to relay to him from me;

I have never had the fortune of meeting the last survivor of the Alderaan Royal Family but I guess our sentiments are the same. My name is Cameron Darkstar, citizen of Aldera City, and I am STILL alive. I am winning.

- Darkstar, out.

Carviesk log 3

Today had been horrifying, stressful. I know the crew haven’t been getting on, but now I can’t help but feel we’re broken.
Mandel had killed Garth. Fair he had psychotic, impulsive tendencies, was becoming a problem but to kill him it seemed extreme to me. Even when we all had a meeting about the events he’s explanation was based on logic like Garth wasn’t a person it. I was already nervous about Mandel as I heard the story’s of bounty hunters ruthless ways but now I’m terrified, going to have to be very careful around him.
In the end Darkstar and me got him to promise he wouldn’t kill any of us, He agree but if we didn’t threaten his life. That wasn’t going to be a problem for Darkstar and me, Gail on the other hand I’m not so sure, her words were, “I won’t kill you but I’ll never forgive you for what you did?"
Weather she’ll be able to resist the urge when they have their punch up after are mission on Alderaan is other matter.
There were other problems, events but they seem so small, the ship engine blow had to buy a new one, less money to send to the clan meaning more bitchy remarks from Pumav.
I ended up being first officer, a role I’m not confident about but it’s temporary thank god.
A Trandoshan joined are crew according to Darkstar sent by the Hutts to help us. He’s rude, and tried flirting with me. Let’s hope he’s useful.
We at Alderann now ready to head into the mines. The captain looks on edge trying to hid his pain, not sure what to say, maybe best to leave it, I’ll end up offending him again.
Let’s hope we all don’t end up killing each other during this information gathering on the asteroids.

Arson Mandel's Mental Log #4

I felt a bit dejected that I wasn’t able to rid the ship of the Imperial Agent. I was happy to see him dropped off so that I could get in a bit of sleep though. There was some discussion about where we should be heading. Whether we go to Bespin, and deal with some AWOL couriers that Bargoss had hired in our place, whether we return to Tatooine or Nar Shadaa for bounties, and whether we could fit the Corella system into these plans.

I don’t think anything really came of it, but the crew certainly seem to be after diversifying their work.

As we went to take off from… I don’t even care to know what system this is. Some Imperial system. Gail managed to blow the engine well and truly this time. It cost us 15, 000 credits to get the replacement engine parts we needed, and that meant dipping into my personal savings. I could see that Garth was drawing attention to himself. His flagrant spending had come back to bite him in the ass. I made a note of that, and tried to balance it against the 1,500 bounty on him. I admit, I’m getting a little tempted at this stage.

After the engine troubles were resolved, we stopped off at Brentaal and I made a point of picking up a few things. Captain gave use the day off, as it was about time we got some relaxation in. I don’t know about the rest of the crew, but I can’t spend too long on a ship. It makes me restless.

I picked up a handful of stun grenades. They are often really difficult to come by in the outer rim, but I just saw them sitting in a shop window like they would be there every day of the year. It’s weird having easy access to stuff like that, but then again we’ve been travelling for the best part of a week to get here, so it certainly has it’s trade-offs.

I managed to come by a comms jammer and a comms scrambler. I’ve been waiting so long to get these back in my inventory. They are invaluable pieces of equipment, despite the surprisingly low price I bought them for.

I got back to the ship roughly the same time as Gail. We heard some cluttering coming from the cargo bay, but 21-BR is usually out on these occasions, making some change in the medical facilities. We went to investigate and found Garth, trying to pry open the chest cavity of EV8. I remained calm.

Enquiring as to what he was doing, he made some vague excuses about the droid attacking him, as if it had the capability to. He had apparently throughout this time, failed to ever notice that EV8 belonged to me. Perhaps he though EV8 calling me ‘master’, was somehow completely unrelated to ownership? Regardless, he had ruined my hopes for this droid, not only in that he had torn it apart, but also that I expected more from EV8. After all this, the droid was ultimately a disappointment after all.

I made mention that Garth would be paying me back for what he did to EV8, in the form of credits. He took offense to that, saying I had no right to. I picked up the shotgun he had left at his side, making a point to mention I will be differing to the Captain about what is to be done about this.

Not a moment after I get on the my comlink asking the Captain to return to the ship when he can, I and Gail find ourselves immobilised by some odd grenade Garth has hurled our way. I let the Captain know of the increase in threat on the ship, as Garth runs off out the cargo bay.

Gail and I find that he’s holed himself up in his room. I suggest we turn off the atmospherics until he falls unconscious. Gail agrees.

After a few minutes we hear a thump. We go inside to see Garth laid out on the floor. I suggest to Gail that he could perhaps be faking it. She again agrees. We fire a stun shots at Garth, and I have a bit of a quiet laugh to myself.

The captain gets back in time to see me carrying Garth to the medical table. I let Gail explain the previous events as I make use of my binders, restraining each of Garth’s limbs individually. When I was content with that, all I had to do was wait. Wait for Garth to wake up.

It wasn’t until halfway through the following day that Garth had managed to regain consciousness. In that time we had moved him from the med table to the common room table, as the Captain had decided we were leaving the cargo container behind. Where we were going, we needed to decrease the ship’s size, and increase maneuverability as much as possible. Needless to say, I was not looking forward to it.

The first thing Garth did when he woke up was piss all over the place. I resisted the urge to stun him into unconsciousness again, and informed the captain that he was awake.

Reminding myself of every little thing he said, would simply be a waste of my time. The gist of his poorly chosen words were that he had no intention of paying me back, despite the captain’s orders, he was completely unapologetic regarding his actions, and that when he could, he was going to kill me.

Oh Garth, you’ve just made my day and you don’t even know it.

At this point, we were stopped by an Imperial ship of some sort. I’ve never cared to remember the names. They reported that illegal personnel or personnel equipment was on-board. The others were about to quickly free Garth, but thinking quickly, I recalled that there was in fact a bounty on his head. I showed them the details, and convinced them to leave him tied up. The Captain then ran off to his quarters, swearing loudly.

Once the Imperials were aboard, we handed over the crew roster and what cargo we were carrying. Garth’s detonite was clearly illegal, but as he was our bounty, and we had all of his equipment, the Imperials didn’t seem too fussed regarding it. We had gagged Garth to avoid him ruining our day any further, but he made efforts to make that happen anyway.

I gave him a few swift blows to the head with the stock of my gun, but to little avail. Gail didn’t seem too happy either, but with the Imperial agent’s offer of executing the bounty for me, I think I made a good show towards them, alleviating any tension in the air.

Besides, nobody is killing Garth but me.

Carvisek and Gail weren’t scheduled to be on the bridge of the ship for a little while yet. I took this time to have a private conversation with Cameron. I felt that if I could get him onside, then this may give me an added advantage in what I was going to do regardless.

I listed how Garth had come across, how there was no remorse, and how I feel about death threats. They aren’t the kind of threats you can wait to see if they are followed through with.

I explained to Cameron how I can’t live with the possibility of some twisted version of revenge hanging over my head, a lethal revenge for an action as simple as picking up a shotgun. I pointed out that it was in fact Garth who had given me the ultimatum, ‘me or him’.

Cameron saw the logic, understood what had to be done, but wanted to make sure this wouldn’t come back to bite him in the ass. I said I would accept Garth’s debt, if that’s the price I have to pay in order to live. Cameron finished with stating, ‘this conversation never happened’.

I grabbed Garth’s bedsheets and placed them down around him. Explaining that it was to soak up the piss. He didn’t say anything, despite having been un-gagged for some time now.

I waited an hour into Gail and Carvisek’s shift. I knew that if I was able to sneak up quietly enough that Garth couldn’t hear me, then neither would they. In a swift motion, I replaced the gag in his mouth, muffling any cries he attempted to make.

Then, I took my time. It was only a minute and a half at most, but it felt much longer. Taking my vibroknife, with my nice, new, modified hilt, I place the blade over Garth’s throat, parting the fur so that I could see his skin. I paused just long enough to see the look register in Garth’s eyes. Would I really do it, was it just scare tactics? No. It wasn’t.

The blade plunged in, and instantly blood came pouring out. Garth fought and spasmed against the restraints as I slowly pushed the blade in further. Faint twangs could be felt in the handle as the vibrating blade caught, and then cut, through one nerves and tendons. After about a minute, Garth’s eyes lost focus, at first I thought that was it, but then his body continued to fight against the binders, and so I knew that I still had enjoyment left to experience.

It was only when the spasms had decreased that I removed the blade. Inspecting the fatal wound I had created, wondering if there were things I could have done differently. Perhaps the only thing I didn’t enjoy was the lack of remorse. I think Garth may have been more like me than I could have realised when he was alive. It was only in his dying moments that I could see how much of a simple beast he was. Not a monster, like me. But something close.

I unfastened the binders from the corpse, wrapping it in the blood-soaked sheets as I went. I carried the corpse to the airlock, placing it into the antechamber. I made sure to move the guns out of there prior to this, in case for whatever reason, the airlock should open.

I noted that 21-BR made no mention of the body as I passed by.

I got a very quick shower, to remove any blood from my person, and did a quick but thorough clean of the table and floor, to remove any blood that may have been left.

It wasn’t until Gail and Carvisek finished their shift that anyone even made mention of Garth. Gail came knocking on my door, stating he wasn’t on the table. I thought it odd, as she should have expected him to be put in his room by now. It was her suggestion after all. I told her to check the airlock and closed my door.

Some time later, Cameron came knocking on my door. He feigned a conversation regarding my involvement with Garth’s death, likely to help Gail reason with it. I remained in my room until the ship came out of hyperspace.

Upon arrival at Alderaan, I stepped out of my room to find the Captain staring out into an Asteroid field. Even as far out as Hutt Space, I knew exactly what this was, and what had occurred here. I placed a hand on his shoulder, out of respect.

Carvisek came into the bridge, failing to see me until she was stood next to me. Despite her large size, she practically jumped out of her fur when she realised I was stood next to her. Gail approached a short while later, asking to speak to Cameron. I obliged and stepped out of the bridge, giving her some privacy. Not 10 seconds later I can hear the muffled, raised voice of Cameron, yelling angry words at Gail. I don’t know what she had said, but it had clearly upset the Captain.

After a close encounter with ship, we landed at an Asteroid Mining station. Cameron gathered intel, and from there, we went further into the Asteroid field, having to land within an Asteroid. From here we received a message, that R4 would have to take time decoding.

At this point, Gail decided it be best that the crew have a discussion. I had been waiting for this moment. I was told that no guns were to be brought to the table. So I elected to bring my vibroknife, and several stun grenades instead. My utility belt made easy work of hiding them on my person.

I reiterated what I had said to Cameron regarding why Garth had to die, dressing it up a little better, as I felt Gail could not take a logical discussion in the same respects that Cameron and I converse in. While I could see she clearly wasn’t happy with my reasoning, she didn’t seem to fault them. She did have some weird notion where you should wait for someone to make good on their death threats before reacting. Rather than ask how you can react once you are dead, I chose to remain silent, to avoid provoking her.

Overall, I reckon I got her on-side with the whole thing. It certainly could have ended up worse. Like an entirely stunned crew and a handy vibroknife worse. She made talk of a fist-fight. Cam was quick to mention it would be watched over, and not lethal in any way. I’m yet to decide if I even want to fight her. Or whether I should just take a beating. I suppose I’ll decide when the time comes.

R4 chirped up at this stage, letting us know the message was in fact co-ordinates. A list of co-ordinates leading us to a destination. We set off along the route, with Gail piloting. I couldn’t watch what was going to happen, so retired to my room. Carvisek had been given the role of First mate due to my actions. A decision I suspect wasn’t directly made by Cameron, due to his prior involvement.

As we set off. We receive an incoming transmission. Some Czerka member is looking to join us. Says he knows Bargoss and that he’s hear to help us out. I immediately don’t like him. Probably due to the mix of the Wookiee coat, his way of talking with Carvisek, and his lack of even asking us who we are. I could go on, but we’ve got a job to do.

After a few clangs on the hull, there was silence for a moment before I heard that we’d arrived. Where we’ve arrived, I had no clue.

Turns out we had entered into an asteroid. An asteroid with a magnetic field around the entrance to it, stopping any atmosphere from escaping. We didn’t fancy risking it and so elected to go with our space suits on. Not 30 seconds after we are making our way into this asteroid do Stormtroopers show up. 10 of the fuckers are firing in our direction and chasing after us. They are making no attempt to hide the fact they are trying to drive us further into the asteroid.

Despite their clear misses. Gail guns one down, before yelling at me for not doing the same. Her belief structure makes no sense to me.

I quickly come across an ornate building within the Asteroid. Cameron’s face makes a curious expression somewhere between joy, confusion, and the increasing stress of having stormtroopers chasing you.

We make quick tracks into the building, closing the heavy set doors behind us.
Alderaan Palace is what Cam calls it.

We walk through various rooms of varying importance, taking the opportunity to pick up a few holodiscs containing long forgotten art. We can’t determine the value of these discs, but it certainly is worth checking out, providing we make it off the asteroid.

One such holodisc turns into a tall man clad in black armour. I appreciate the enigmatic look he has going, but would never want to meet him in a dark alley. I can’t help but feel his armour is a bit better than the poor excuse I’ve got for protection at the moment.

We reach a room that quickly turns back into what is now looking like a cave system inside the asteroid. We have to navigate a narrow pathway over a dark void. We start making our way, but Gail stumbles and falls, followed by me, and 21-BR shortly after.

I didn’t think this would be the way that I would go. I have to admit I always envisioned a lot worse. This wasn’t bad, all things considered.

We land on a safety net. My composure only really contained by the full-face mask I’m wearing, I quickly climb off the net and onto a platform.

21-BR takes a little while longer. For a moment, Gail and I forget about Garth as 21-BR comically fails to climb out of this overly large safety net.

Once 21-BR finally made it’s way to us, we climbed back up to rejoin the rest of the party, only to be met by a small group of greasy individuals too rude enough to exchange pleasantries before they started firing at us.

Carvisek log 2

After are semi successful first mission at the mine we didn’t get much down time. Garth and Gail were making up, well I presume I went to the engine room when garth started trying to get us all involved. The captain came in to greet me after he was wondering if it was odd he was in his dressing drown I didn’t see the problem to be honest it not like we were on a mission. I think I accidently offended him as I felt he drinks a lot and after last night with the imperial he might want to calm it. He looked a bit shocked by it.
Mandell had us a bounty to hunt. 7000 credits for some treasure hunter and more for a relic. It was for Bargoss, (like we don’t do enough for him.) turns out this women stole the relic from him must have been good to get into the tighter secured areas even if the guards were commenting a munity. The bounty involves going on to a derelict ship might be able to find some good stuff for the traveller while we’re there too.
The vessel was Venator Class Star Destroyer would of a impressive ship in its time but now it was falling apart lost to space. The captain spilt us all up garth Tuber and I where to go down and hunt for goodies. We found an old cooking droid can’t wait to tinker with him, I’m going end up with a family of droid they’ll be less dysfunctional them this lot on board.
We got a message from Gail telling us she and Rats had communications with the astromech droid in the neighbouring vessel. Captain ordered us to headed back to help get on board only for us to find out him and Mandell where under attack by some clone that attached himself to the ship. Them the treasure hunter tells us to destroy the engines so we don’t destroy the ship. Gail and Ratz managed to get the droid to lower the ship defensive but couldn’t let us on the ship, I respect he’s loyalty to her hopeful I will have one like him. Me garth and Gail went and I got on with getting us in, it wasn’t too hard but I might of damage the door a little. We got on the ship and I easily accessed it to the ship. We were going to destroy the engines when we got told to stand down.
So the captain and Mandell got the treasure hunter and the relic and we know have a fire spray. Mandell asks if I can look under the traveller as Gail had saw EVI tinkering with the ship. We find only his memories stored, he must be worried we’re going to wipe him. It was heavy reading such harsh things had be done to him makes sense to why he the way he is. Whilst Mandell and Captain were interviewing the woman, I went to see what the droid needed. They finished talking and we had 3 days before we head to a bazaar to collect it. So I got to getting the cooking droid on line, did a fine good job he now happily cooking in are kitchen doesn’t like eggs for some reason, didn’t think Gail was impressed with that.
We got to the Bazaar which are fascinating, jungles villages in space, this is why I love traveling. Couldn’t wait to get rid of the treasure hunter, she never shut up. Too many questions but It was funny when she got in Garth face. The trade went smoothly and we got paid which is good as I need to send money to my Clan, they weren’t impressed last time, there never impressed when it comes to me.
Smooth didn’t last long as an assassin droid was in pursuit of someone it seemed important to the Captain so we went to investigate. Garth took down the droid with his new toys, he’s getting so many lately not sure how he afford it. Mandell was very keen to get the droid and wanted me to get it running, so he and tuber headed back to heal the miner with the remains of the droid. Captain said he had an important mission to do so we went around the village area to investigate. I and Gail ended up at the hospital to find out if there were any more human that had been shot. It didn’t go well Gail also insisted in smoking in a hospital had to take it off her see wasn’t happy, well to be fair she never seems to be. We got a com from Darkstar he wanted us to meet him in some gardens he had a lead. We went and manger to find the other assassin and the man Darkstar was after. The assassin was easily defeated but Dark star seemed very concerned he wouldn’t say what was up but you could tell it was big.
We got back to the ship and Darkstar needed us to go to the graveyard of Alderaan for information gathering, not sure on the detail but it was important to him so I agreed. Everyone else was unsure but he just persuaded them with money, always works in the Outta Rim. We managed to sell the fire spray but had to clean it first, man it been a long day. We stuck at Lantilliies in the mid-rim Gail overheated the ship wish she would be more careful with the traveller, she delicate. I’m calling it a night tomorrow I’ll see what Mandell wants me to do with his new droid friend.
